Despite being ranked among the top service providers of business process outsourcing and information technology services in the Asia-Pacific, Philippines BPO is yet to cover miles. When it is about moving ahead in the global competition, the country strongly requires means to step ahead and end all its perceived economic and political weaknesses.

The recent report released by Gartner listed Philippines as one of the top destinations for BPO and IT services in the Asia-Pacific region. The report also pointed out that the overall rating was found not to be favorable for Philippines BPO, especially considering few areas like that of on-going political scenario and economic situation.

The Gartner study titled as “The Ten Leading Locations for Offshore Services in Asia -Pacific and Japan for 2010” states that the main concern is still on the current economic and political environment. This is what remains as the major concern for most companies deciding to move their businesses to the offshore locations.

Not only Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand are some of the destinations pointed out to face the same economic and political problems. In the same category, countries that have been given a high rating include New Zealand, Singapore and Australia.

According to the Gartner Research President Mr. Jim Longwood, few of the countries like Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam have already continued to reinforce their position against all the leading alternatives. He also added that these countries also invested considerable amounts and also leveraged on the improved demand for the low- cost services. Learn more about Gartner reports on IT/BPO destinations.
