Drive for Emergency Call Center
The residents of California are pushing ahead for an emergency call center. Instances of fire will be more common in summer and there are other problems in the Bay Area like fears of earthquakes. The residents of the area are backing Rep. Anna Eshoo is getting the ‘211’ phone answering service to function at a bigger level. This answering service number is helpful in providing information to the residents of the area about restaurants, markets and other directions.
In terms of emergency like earthquakes, the inbound call center desk informs hapless residents about roads of clearance, the conditions, shelter and medical care. The ‘211’ customer service call center units are run by the offices of United Way and is a toll-free number.
Rep. Eshoo was much keen on getting the call center to bring more area under its jurisdiction. She said, “I’ve worked hard to make sure the bill has the votes it needs to pass. Now I’m working closely with Speaker Pelosi and Chairman Waxman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee to bring up the bill for a vote this year, preferably prior to our August recess.”
The ‘211’ answering service covers 26 of the 58 counties in California. With United Way opening call centers in Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties, all the 9 Bay Area counties will be receiving the benefits of this phone answering service.
