The city has already chosen one of the renowned telecommunication companies to set up a BPO firm. The multi-channel channel call centre will be enabled with SIP. The main idea behind setting up of the BPO firm is to meet the growing requirements of the citizens in a better way.
In the current scenario, an improved communications infrastructure is essential to cater to the increasing demands of the citizens. Rina Ray said that they are aiming to empower the tourists so that they can plan out their trip securely. Both the call center and the website will be offering them all kinds of information, so that the visitors do not fall prey to the middlemen and touts. The new website will be giving information about metro routes, radio and information service, top restaurants, budget hotels and much more.

The Everest Research Institute also pointed out that Philippines as the business process outsourcing destination represented one healthy percentage (15 percent) of the total offshore BPO market. Mills added that though India includes more number of the total BPO workforce than that of the Philippines on the per capita basis, the Filipino workers will get to earn more than 3 times as that of the Indian counterparts.
In his words, Mills pointed out that long before it was quite hard to gain expats including decision making and managerial skills functions. However, with Philippines emerging as a main BPO provider, many good things have been possible in some ways or the other. Today, Philippines has developed one the fastest growing BPO destination in the world engaged in business process outsourcing for the companies based globally.
